Every week, Chayal's Angels sends volunteer holistic care practitioners to IDF bases across northern Israel -- transforming bases into temporary healing centers for reservists carrying the weight of war.
✔ US donors: fully tax-deductible giving available via 3 channels
A soldier carries more than equipment. They carry trauma -- physical, psychological, invisible. We show up to address what the army cannot. Chayal's Angels provides holistic care that meets IDF reservists where they are: on base, in their bodies, and in the weight they carry every day.
Multiple times a week, our team visits IDF bases in northern Israel -- returning to the same bases every few weeks so that healing builds over time, not just in one visit.
"Our soldiers are out there to protect our country, for us. So we show up to protect them."
Tasha Cohen -- Founder & CEO, Chayal's Angels
We don't do entertainment. We don't do BBQs. We create a calm, intentional healing environment -- candles, music, dedicated spaces -- where each practitioner works their specialty, and soldiers rotate through 20-minute sessions to receive multiple therapies in a single day.
Beyond Base Days, soldiers can access guided meditations and sound healing through our Spotify and YouTube channels when they're off base.
Every Base Day follows the same intentional rhythm -- arrival, setup, intake, and hours of uninterrupted healing. Soldiers know what to expect. Trust builds over time.
Every Base Day costs money to run.
Chayal's Angels was founded within three weeks of October 7th, 2023 -- by Tasha Cohen, Debby Tamir, and Ashley Shapiro. Three women who saw what was happening to reservists and decided the right response was to show up.
"The founder carries lived knowledge of spinal injury, chronic pain, and complex PTSD. This is not theory. It's personal."
What started as a grassroots response has grown into a structured program serving bases across northern Israel -- with 250+ practitioners, 200+ bases, and over 15,500 treatments delivered. The goal for 2026: 20,000 treatments and a one-stop healing clinic for soldiers on army breaks.
The mission runs because people choose to be part of it. Whether you give, volunteer your skills, or spread the word -- you keep the Base Days going.
Every donation directly funds Base Day operations -- transport, supplies, practitioner coordination. US donors have three tax-deductible giving options. Israeli donors give via JGive.

The story behind Chayal's Angels, the volunteers who make it run, and the small internal team supporting them.
In response to the tragic events of October 7, Tasha Cohen began delivering food and equipment to bases and battalions across the country, and driving IDF soldiers -- desperate to join their brothers and sisters -- to the newly formed frontlines in the war against Hamas.
While spending long hours on empty stretches of road far up north and deep into the south of Israel, Tasha quickly realized these soldiers were in need of more than just military equipment and personal supplies. They were suffering.
"These were not just soldiers. They were people -- carrying unimaginable weight. And no one was addressing that."
-- Tasha Cohen
With expertise rooted in living with spinal injury, chronic pain, and complex PTSD, Tasha understood precisely what these soldiers needed. Within three weeks of October 7, Chayal's Angels was up and running -- bringing holistic care directly to the bases.
Co-founded alongside Debby Tamir (Massage Therapist) and Ashley Shapiro (Sound Healer), the organization has grown from an emergency response into a structured program operating multiple times per week across northern Israel.
Everything Chayal's Angels does is made possible by the practitioners, Base Day Angels, drivers, and supporters who choose to show up -- week after week, base after base. Behind them is a small internal team that handles the coordination, operations, and infrastructure that keeps it all running.
Practitioners, Base Day Angels, Drivers, and PR and Grant Writers -- all giving their time so soldiers can heal.
Teams of volunteer practitioners traveling to IDF bases across northern Israel, multiple times every week.
Every single one delivered by a volunteer, in a dedicated space, on a base, to a soldier who needed it.
On top of our volunteer community, a small internal team handles the coordination, communications, fundraising, and operations infrastructure that makes Base Days possible at scale. They are not the reason the mission works -- the volunteers are. But they make sure the volunteers can keep showing up.

Every Base Day, real healing happens. Here's what that looks like across 200+ bases and 15,500+ treatments.

Want to volunteer? Here's exactly how it works -- from expressing interest to showing up on base.
A Base Day is when our team of volunteer holistic practitioners travels together to an IDF base in northern Israel. We set up a full healing center -- each specialty in their own dedicated space -- and soldiers rotate through 20-minute treatment sessions throughout the day.
Most soldiers receive 3-5 different therapies in a single Base Day. The environment is intentionally calm and healing-focused. Base Days run Monday through Thursday. Equipment and transportation are provided by Chayal's Angels.
Start by filling out our contact form to let us know you'd like to volunteer. Tell us your specialty and a bit about your background.
You'll receive a welcome email including a link to our Volunteer Intake Form, an overview of what Base Days look like, and what to wear, bring, and prepare.
After submitting the intake form, our team reviews your info. Israel-based volunteers are added to our WhatsApp group immediately. International volunteers are added 2 weeks before their arrival.
When a new Base Day is announced in the WhatsApp group, simply reply to confirm. No complicated scheduling -- just a quick confirmation.
2-3 days before your confirmed Base Day, you'll be added to a one-time WhatsApp group for ride coordination, final instructions, and any last questions.
Get a good night's rest. We depart together as a team and end the day with a group reflection before heading home.
All volunteers gather at our centralized meeting point. We depart together, following the Chayal's Angels car to ensure everyone arrives safely.
Each specialty is provided a dedicated space. We enhance the atmosphere with candles, music, and a calming environment to help soldiers relax before treatments begin.
The Base Day leader introduces all volunteers and explains how the day will flow -- allowing soldiers to fully relax and trust the process.
The Base Day leader conducts an individual intake with each soldier to help our practitioners know exactly what they need to work on.
Soldiers rotate through 20-minute sessions, receiving care tailored to their needs. Most soldiers receive 3-5 therapies during the day.
We take time to reflect on the impact of our work, integrate the day's experiences, and head home for some well-deserved rest.
Before signing up, read through our Base Days page to understand what volunteering with us looks like. Ready? There's a role for you.
